Burwell Material Handling has acquired W.E. Johnson Equipment Company, a material handling equipment dealer with branches in Miami and Fort Myers, Florida. The move expands Burwell’s presence to 20 locations nationwide and enhances its service capabilities in the Southeast.
Founded in 1958, W.E. Johnson will see both locations rebranded and upgraded under Burwell’s ownership. Facility enhancements will include additional service bays, expanded parts distribution and increased space for rental equipment, allowing customers access to a wider range of services and product offerings.

Burwell’s acquisition is part of its ongoing strategy to offer end-to-end support across the material handling lifecycle. This includes equipment, rentals, fleet technology and custom-engineered systems tailored to operational needs.

Customers in South Florida can expect uninterrupted service during the transition. In the months ahead, they will gain access to Burwell’s full offering of equipment from top manufacturers such as Bobcat, CLARK, JLG, Genie and Haulotte.
