LineWise has introduced a new Anchor Tester aimed at verifying the proper installation of utility anchors. The device is available for purchase or rental and is intended to help utility companies ensure compliance while supporting long-term infrastructure reliability. By proactively testing anchors, the tool can also help reduce costs associated with potential pole or tower failures.

“The utility industry has expressed a critical need for a robust, adaptable anchor testing solution that wouldn’t require tying up a large piece of heavy equipment,” said Christopher Fritel, company president. “This Anchor Tester is a direct response to our customers' need for a reliable way to ensure the safety and longevity of their infrastructure. It’s about providing peace of mind and preventing expensive problems down the road.”

The Anchor Tester is designed to accommodate most commercial utility anchors and offers a test range from 10,000 to 45,000 pounds (4,536 to 20,412 kilograms). Its compact, skid-steer style quick-attach mounting system allows for easier transport and on-site operation without dedicating larger construction equipment. Integrated tie-down and lift points further enhance mobility and operational efficiency.

The unit includes adjustable features such as a cylinder angle from 50 to 100 degrees, 12 inches (305 millimeters) of vertical threaded rod adjustment, spherical bearings allowing five degrees of tilt, and a pivot pin accommodating ±1.5 inches (38 millimeters) of side shift for alignment. The hydraulic cylinder has a 16-inch stroke and a maximum operating pressure of 2,200 pounds per square inch. The Anchor Tester measures 42 inches wide by 86.3 inches deep (1,067 millimeters x 2,192 millimeters) and weighs 1,350 pounds (615 kilograms).

LineWise, a division of Diversified Product Development, manufactures a range of utility products including line lifters, insulated work platforms, temporary conductor supports and transmission hardware reinforcement systems. The company continues to develop solutions focused on safety, compliance and operational reliability in utility infrastructure.
