LIVE: COVID-19 Impact on Access Industry Events

Many access industry events originally scheduled for the second quarter of 2020 have been canceled or rescheduled due to the growing global spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

IPAF Summit
April 23, 2020
The IPAF Summit and IAPAs 2020 event, scheduled to be held in London, has been postponed and will now be held on Oct. 8.

SAIA Committee Week
April 27-30, 2020
The SAIA canceled Committee Week events that were scheduled to be held in Kansas City, Missouri. DeAnna Martin, executive director of the SAIA, said the association is working to reschedule the council and committee meetings, and more information will be shared as it is available.

IPAF Innovate
May 5-6, 2020
The annual IPAF Innovate workshop, presentation, and award event, originally planned in Chicago, has been canceled.

“With a number of scheduled events in the second half of 2020, it is unlikely that we will be able to reschedule the event during this year,” said Tony Groat, IPAF’s North America regional manager. “As soon as IPAF does have a date set for the next edition of this popular industry event, we will communicate this to all our members, partners and would-be attendees.

“IPAF is currently exploring the possibilities of running the event virtually, with each workshop collaborating via video conference and the presentations being live streamed or perhaps turned into a webinar.”

EUFMC
May 31 – June 3, 2020
The Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference, originally set for Williamsburg, Virginia, has been canceled. EUFMC organizers say they look forward to the event returning in 2021.

ARA
According to a statement by the ARA, all meetings and events are canceled through the end of May, including the National Legislative Caucus, Construction/Industrial and General Tool Shared Interest Group, and the Exhibitor Advisory Council. The association is also encouraging all state boards to cancel ARA meetings and events planned through May 31.

AWEA
June 1 – 4, 2020
Registration remains open and plans are still underway for Cleanpower 2020 in Denver. The early bird deadline has been extended to April 10. The AWEA will provide updates if new information becomes available that may impact the event.

APEX
June 9 – 11, 2020
APEX and the International Rental Exhibition (IRE) are being postponed to Sep. 8 - 10 because of the current COVID-19 pandemic. The venue for the events will remain the MECC Exhibition Centre in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

ASSP Safety 2020
June 23 – 25, 202
ASSP organizers said as of March 18, they are planning to move forward with hosting the conference in Orlando, Florida. The early registration deadline has been extended to April 27, and if the event is canceled, registration fees will be refunded.
