Man Behind Film ‘127 Hours’ to Speak at 2018 EUFMC

Aron Ralston, fearless adventurer and subject of the film "127 Hours," will share his inspirational story at the 2018 Electric Utility Fleets Managers Conference, set for June 3-6 in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Ralston replaces Jim Abbott, who was announced previously.

Ralston is author of the New York Times best-selling memoir, “Between a Rock and a Hard Place.” His memoir details how he was ascending a Utah canyon alone in 2003 when a boulder became unstuck and pinned him to the canyon wall. After six days struggling to survive, he recorded his last will and testament before freeing himself by amputating his right hand with a pocketknife.

Aron Ralston’s captivating story was also told in the major motion picture, “127 Hours,” starring James Franco.

EUFMC, with its theme of “Strategies for Managing a Safe, Productive, and Cost Effective Fleet” will also feature educational sessions, roundtable discussions, utility equipment demonstrations, and an equipment show with more than 60 displays of vehicles, equipment, components and a wide range of technologies and services. Danny Lindsey, power delivery senior vice president at Georgia Power, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker.

More than 120 utility fleet representatives and over 325 representatives from manufacturers and service providers attended EUFMC in 2017.
