New Tufftalk M Headset Simplifies Jobsite Communication

Sena Industrial, a leader in advanced wireless communications for teamwork, says its new Tufftalk M headset uses wireless Bluetooth technology and features many updates from Sena’s original Tufftalk headset.

Tufftalk M features Mesh Intercom technology for expanded team coverage and simplified connection, as well as hearing protection, hands-free operation, and multi-channel functionality. Tufftalk M is available in over-the-head and hard hat versions.

“We first entered the industrial communications market with our Tufftalk headset,” said Tae Kim, CEO of Sena Technologies, Inc. “We have taken the original Tufftalk to the next level with Tufftalk M.”

The unit’s proprietary Mesh Intercom technology allows simplified set up independent of local networks. “We designed Tufftalk M to better meet the work needs of teams in industrial work environments today,” said Kim.

New Mesh Intercom Communication Allows Greater Team Support
The Mesh Intercom technology is a self-optimizing, and self-healing network. It always looks for the best connection and seeks a new one when a device disconnects. Tufftalk M features two Mesh modes -- Open Mesh and Group Mesh. With Open Mesh, a nearly unlimited number of users can connect to each other within an effective range of 0.7mi. Within Open Mesh, users can use 9 channels to efficiently stay in touch with the right team members. For private sessions, Group Mesh supports up to 24 participants. Tufftalk M also features four Bluetooth connections in order to pair with Sena’s Bluetooth enabled devices, such as the original Tufftalk.

Hearing Protection and Safer Operation in High Noise Environments
The Tufftalk M headset provides hearing protection while letting crews communicate in loud, busy worksites. The headset comes in two styles, each with their respective noise reduction ratings -- over-the-head earmuffs (26dB) and hardhat integrated (24dB). Tufftalk M is designed with safety and comfort in mind with a hands-free intercom system and a three-button layout making it easy to control in demanding work environments.

Full-Duplex Technology Delivers Hands-Free Communication
Worksites need communication lines open for safety reasons. Being able to respond without needing to press a button is essential, especially for people working with heavy equipment. Tufftalk M helps with these issues by utilizing full-duplex technology, a system that allows people to talk hands-free. Crews can easily communicate and keep their hands free of any distractions while working.

Smartphone App for Simple Device Configuration
Workers can connect the Tufftalk M to the Sena Utility App and instantly gain access to device configuration options. Change settings like turning on Mesh Intercom, adjust channel number, set up speed dial options, program FM station preferences, and more. Tufftalk M can also connect via Bluetooth to a smartphone allowing users to listen to music or even take a phone call.

Available Now
Both the over-the-head and hardhat Tufftalk M versions will be available for $499 USD. Like all Sena products, Tufftalk comes with Sena’s two-year warranty.
