Allied Power Products Inc., Beaverton, Ore., introduces the AutoAdvance Line Spooler (AALS), a system designed to stimulate fleet angle for effortless and perfect line spooling onto any winch or hoist drum with capacities from less than 1,000 pounds to more than 100,000 pounds.
“The AALS would be valuable to any mobile or overhead crane user with an application that precluded proper wire rope spooling due to a lack of adequate fleet angle,” states Eric Peterson, Allied Power Products’ international sales manager.
The system eliminates the need for a fixed sheave to achieve proper spooling; utilizes any size of line and even differing sizes of line on the same drum; and avoids parasitic power losses, component timing issues, and maintenance requirements. The AALS is available for all standard Columbia winches and hoists; custom designs are also available, according to product materials.
