Acme Lift Hires McHale as VP of Southeast | Construction News

Acme Lift Co., the world’s largest wholesale equipment company specializing in the biggest aerial work platforms, telehandlers, and portable air compressors, has hired Ed McHale as senior vice president of southeastern operations.

McHale's experience in the construction equipment industry spans nearly three decades.

“Ed brings enormous levels of talent and experience to the Acme Lift team,” said Woody Weld, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer. “His strong suite of capabilities in our historical aerial business, plus exceptional knowledge of our growing air compressor business, will be of significant value to Acme Lift’s customers in the southeastern region.”

McHale has worked in various upper-level jobs in sales, operations, fleet management, and purchasing during his 27-year career.

“Ed and I worked closely together for many years at the former Volvo Rents and is the perfect choice for us to really emphasize our efforts in the southeastern United States,” said Mike Crouch, Acme Lift president and chief operating officer. “He is a consummate professional and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Acme Lift team.”

McHale comes to Acme Lift from JLG Industries Inc., where he was senior segment manager for used equipment in North America for the past year. Before that, he was Atlas Copco Rental’s fleet vice president for North America for almost two years. He worked for Volvo Rents from 2008 to 2014, where he was first general manager of corporate stores before being promoted to director of fleet management for North America in 2011, and director of purchasing and fleet services for North America in 2013.

“I am very excited to rejoin several former co-workers at Acme Lift,” McHale said. “I am convinced that Acme Lift is positioned solidly in the market space it serves to enjoy strong continued growth in the very near future.”
