Rental Equipment Register (RER) reported that Ahern Rentals, Las Vegas, Nev., is opening a new 125,000-square-foot facility in La Mirada, Calif. Situated on 7.5 acres, the La Mirada branch will house a large truck-repair shop, several delivery trucks, and a technical training center.
Ahern Rentals CEO Don Ahern said he plans to eventually merge three facilities into one, with the new branch being centrally located between current rental centers in Long Beach, Brea and Santa Ana, Calif. The central dispatch for the southern California area will also move from its current office in Bloomington, Calif., to the new La Mirada branch.
The new branch will allow the company to reduce transportation costs because of its location near the convergence of the three freeways. The company plans to retain its current employees as well as add 20 more.
