ALL Erection & Crane Rental Purchases Two New Skyjack 20,000-Lb. Capacity Telehandlers | Construction News

ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. has acquired two new 20,000-lb. capacity Skyjack ZB2044 telehandlers, the largest capacity telehandler that Skyjack makes and one of the largest manufactured in North America. The two telehandlers, one already at work in All’s Columbus, Ohio, yard and one delivered this month to the Cleveland, Ohio, headquarters branch, will satisfy intensifying demand in each of these two markets.

With a 20,000-lb. capacity and a three-section telescopic boom, the Skyjack ZB2044 is suited for handling large loads in the construction and maintenance of power plants, mines, wind farms, and large pipelines, plus crane erection and other pick-and-carry jobs. All will also use these new workhorse telehandlers in such applications as bridge and highway work, industrial construction and maintenance, shoring, steel erection, and masonry work. Demand and utilization in these industries are higher than in the past few years, and many of these projects are benefitting the Northeast Ohio region.

Skyjack's larger-capacity telehandler was developed in response to the need for rugged lift performance combined with agility in the often limited-access areas. Another advantage is that telehandlers can pick and place horizontally, whereas a crane is limited to a vertical setting of the load. The ZB2044 will be valuable for its ability to place large loads to the side of a building or structure.

More value lies in its high-capacity performance across its work range. According to the load chart, the ZB2044 can lift 20,000 lbs. with its boom fully retracted and its outriggers down or up. With the support of its outriggers, the ZB2044 can lift 12,000 lbs. to its full 44-ft., 10-in. maximum height or provide 7,000-lb. capacity at a 27-ft., 5-in. forward reach. On tires alone it can lift 10,000 lbs. to a height of 44 ft. or lift 4,000 lbs. to 27 ft., 5 in.
