Alten Energy Introduces Portable DC Battery Chargers

After a decade of use in Australia, Alten Energy Solutions, Ferndale, Wash., has introduced a range of portable DC battery chargers to the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Designed for off-road and industrial machines, including electric-powered access equipment, these chargers allow equipment owners and operators to charge batteries in remote locations without the need for AC power. The Alten line of portable DC battery chargers are powered by Honda gas and Hatz diesel engines that meet emission requirements.

Unlike an AC generator paired with an electric charger, Alten battery chargers efficiently charge 12-, 24-, and 48-volt batteries. In most applications, the battery chargers can be run intermittently to recharge batteries under constant use. Compared to the alternative, this minimizes noise, saves fuel, and reduces emissions. Remote electric start and other options are available as optional equipment.

In other company news, Alten Energy Solutions has named Brad Dwan as its director of sales for the United States. Dwan has more than 20 years experience in battery and charger sales. More recently, he was the director of international sales for Trojan Battery. Dwan will primarily focus on establishing dealer relationships and direct sales to channel partners within the battery industry.
