ArvinMeritor Begins Production of Raydan's Air Link Suspension

Manufacturing of Raydan's Air Link suspension has begun at ArvinMeritor's state-of-the-art factory in Monterrey, Mexico. Initial production will fulfill Edmonton, Alberta-based Raydan's commitments to Mack Trucks and International Trucks and will expand to include new business generated by Raydan and ArvinMeritor.

The licensing agreement with ArvinMeritor begins a long-term relationship authorizing it to market, engineer and manufacture the Air Link rear suspension product line, up to and including 52,000-pound gross axle tandem weight. Raydan will continue to manufacture and market the Air Link for gross vehicle weights greater than 52,000 pounds. This marketplace includes tandem axle fire rescue vehicles and truck cranes. The agreement also grants Raydan access to ArvinMeritor's product lines.

“We expect ArvinMeritor's production and marketing capabilities to increase sales of the Air Link”, said Ray English, president and CEO. “By moving production out of Raydan, we can effectively use our manufacturing space to generate new business and also reduce our foreign exchange exposure.”

The Air Link suspension is a unique combination of air spring and walking beam technology, which delivers everything the severe service and vocational truck markets demand in a suspension. It features high roll stability, lower maintenance costs, reduced impact damage and a smooth ride.
