Boom Truck Accidentally Tears Down Live Power Line

Howland, Maine, August 2012—No one was hurt, but 1,100 utility customers lost power for up to four hours, one woman was trapped in her car for more than an hour, and traffic was halted for a few hours after a the boom of a contractor’s boom truck accidentally tore down live power lines at a road and bridge construction site. The live wires fell onto the car of a woman driving through the area. She was trapped until the utility shut off power to the lines.
