Boom Truck Crashes Through Roof During Tree-Care Work

Newark, N.J., August 2012—The boom of a boom truck crashed through the roof of a home when the truck tipped up onto its left-side outriggers while the crane was lowering a large section of tree to the ground. A tree-care company was using the crane to help cut down a large tree. No one was hurt in the accident. The damaged home belongs to the tree owner’s neighbor. A witness said that the boom truck was handling a cut section of tree about 10 feet long and several feet thick when the piece of tree started swaying before the truck tipped. - www.nj.com
