Bosch Rexroth AG, Hoffman Estates, Ill., will double the production area of its Fountain Inn plant in South Carolina with the purchase of an additional building. The company plans to invest $80 million in the site and hire approximately 160 additional employees in the next five years.
Bosch Rexroth produces hydraulic components for North and South America in Fountain Inn, where drive and control technologies specialists have experienced double-digit percentage increases in sales and incoming orders this year. “Bosch Rexroth has gained additional market share, especially in the field of mobile machines for agriculture and construction,” said Berend Bracht, regional president, Bosch Rexroth Americas. “We adapted to the technological shift toward low-emission machines early on and can now offer the right products and solutions at the right time.”
Manufacturers of mobile machines are currently revising their concepts to meet the new, more stringent TIER 4 Final emissions regulations for off-highway vehicles. Bosch Rexroth’s solutions for working and drive hydraulics that help achieve reductions in fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions for mobile machines include the axial piston pumps the company makes at Fountain Inn. The pumps are also used in energy-efficient stationary applications.
The additional building is expected to be fully outfitted with production machines in the third quarter of 2012.
