Bushman Avontec Designs Jet Engine Lift Station

Bushman AvonTec, Butler, Wis., recently teamed up with J&B Equipment, Bloomington, Minn., to design and build a 15-metric ton, ceiling-mounted, hydraulic scissor lift station. Two 7.5-ton patented monorail hoists lift a complete jet engine into position so the engine modules can be secured to struts that are supported by eight monorail trolleys on the scissor lift. The scissor lift then moves the engine up or down to the desired working height. It includes an air-over-hydraulic backup safety system that will support the engine in the event of a main cylinder failure.

J&B Equipment is a material handling system integrator servicing the industrial community since 1961. J&B brings together multiple manufacturers, along with in-house engineering and project management capabilities, as a part of their specialty crane and monorail systems. J&B provides innovative design of material-handling applications for both domestic and international customers.

Bushman AvonTec designs and manufactures material-handling equipment in three product segments: below-the-hook lifting attachments for cranes, including C-hooks, coil grabs, spreader beams, sheet & plate lifters, lifting tongs and more; floor-based equipment such as scissors lift tables, upenders, inverters, mold and die carts, and transfer cars; and slit coil packaging lines for metal processing facilities.
