Capital Safety Opens Fall Protection Training Center

Red Wing, Minn.-based Capital Safety, home of the DBI-SALA and Protecta brands, announces the opening of a new, state-of-the-art, fall protection training facility in Houston, Texas. Located near the George Bush International Airport, the 7,000-square-foot facility is easily accessible to the people and companies in need of fall protection training.

The new facility, which is now open for classes, offers a wide variety of fall protection courses, including competent person, authorized person, qualified person, program administrator, rescue, tower climber and confined space courses, among others.

The Houston fall protection training center is equipped with hands-on scaffolding for climbing, tying-off and descending. A rebar wall, form wall and oil derrick prop are designed to simulate real working conditions. Hands-on training areas and simulated fall protection scenarios comprise two-thirds of the facility. There is similar emphasis on real world applications and hands-on learning through the curriculum.

“We expect to be running week-long training courses three or even four times a month,” said Nate Damro, vice president global marketing with Capital Safety. “We are off to a great start. Classes are filling fast and the demand for fall protection classes is expected to remain high.”

Outside of the United States, Capital Safety has six training facilities across the world including Mississauga, Canada; Edmonton, Canada; Nice, France; Runcorn, United Kingdom; Sydney, Australia; and Singapore.

Class schedules are available online and in the Capital Safety North American Training Catalog. For more information, visit www.capitalsafety.com or call (800) 328-6146.
