Case Suspends Telehandler Production

After announcing the postponement of the TX1055 telescopic handler in October 2008, Case Construction Equipment, Racine, Wis., has suspended the production of all telehandlers—TX742, TX842 and TX945—until further notice.

“The North American economy continues to experience significant and continued weakness in the residential, commercial and rental markets that traditionally utilize these machines,” the company said in a letter to its dealers. “In addition, Case faces exchange rate issues due to European sourcing of this product line.”

As a result, Case will suspend production of the telehandlers until further notice, and no additional orders will be accepted at this time. All dealer orders in the system will be cancelled, and any units already shipped from the plant will be invoiced to the dealer.

Case said it will continue to support dealers and customers with parts, service and warranty for the machines that have sold to customers and those in the inventory.

In the letter, Case said it regrets the inconvenience and “will continue to monitor the market place and will communicate updates as they occur.”
