Columbus McKinnon Joins N4 Systems' Field ID Safety Network

Columbus McKinnon Corporation, a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of material handling products has agreed to join Toronto, Ontario-based N4 Systems' Field ID Safety Network. Field ID Manufacturer Edition will enable Columbus McKinnon to have full safety traceability of products they sell as well as take advantage of the Field ID Safety Network, sharing safety critical data with vendors and customers.

"Field ID provides traceability throughout a product's life, from cradle-to-grave,” said Gene Buer, executive director at Columbus McKinnon, Amherst, N.Y. “When implemented, our customers will experience a new and exciting way to manage inspections and safety compliance using N4 Systems web-based Field ID inspection and safety compliance system.

Field ID combines Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), mobile computers and the web to change the way inspections are administered. Field ID gives customers the tools and information needed to easily manage inspections and safety compliance.

"Columbus McKinnon represents a shift in the way manufacturers can support and provide value-added services to their customers,” said Somen Mondal, CEO of N4 Systems. “Not only is Columbus McKinnon providing their customers with traceability, information and the tools to ensure a safer work environment, they will be able to continuously improve their products based on data provided by their customers. Field ID will be exceedingly valuable in inspecting Columbus McKinnon's products, which face increasingly difficult safety compliance regulations. We are truly excited about this partnership and we are looking forward to creating safer work environments wherever Columbus McKinnon products are used.”
