Crane Boom Breaks while Lifting Christmas Tree | Daily Construction News

Atlanta, Ga., January 2013—The top of a mobile crane’s telescopic boom buckled as the crane was removing a large Christmas tree from the top of a department store. Fortunately, the section of boom that buckled did not break off, but it left the tree dangling over the store’s three-story glass façade. Although a large pane of glass was shattered, no injuries were reported. A second crane was brought in to remove the tree. - www.ajc.com
