Crane Operators and Mechanics Become NCCCO Certified Signalpersons at ALL Crane Rental of Pennsylvania

In January, 33 crane operators and mechanics from ALL Crane Rental of Pennsylvania successfully completed the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) Signalperson Certification Class and passed a two-part test to become certified signalpersons.

This meets the requirements of the revised OSHA Crane Standard 1926.1428, which states that as of Nov. 8, 2010, all lifts require a qualified signalperson.

Every crane operator at ALL Crane Rental is NCCCO certified; the signalperson certification is added to their crane operator certification on their NCCCO cards. The certification is good for five years.

ALL Crane Rental of Pennsylvania, a member of the ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. Family of Companies, held the 8-hour prequalification class at their Pittsburgh facility on Jan. 15. The class was followed by two testing sessions, Jan. 22 and 29, which consisted of a written exam and a practical hand signal test.

Ongoing training programs are the foundation of the ALL Family of Companies’ commitment to providing technical and regulatory education for its employees.

“We’re proud that all 33 of our employees passed the certification test,” said Bob Kelly, general manager of ALL Crane Rental of Pennsylvania. “That makes us fully prepared to serve customers better in compliance with the new OSHA rule.”
