Crane's Contact with Power Line Kills Worker 20' Away

Newbury, N.H., June 2012—A tree service worker was electrocuted in Newbury when a crane he was working near came in contact with a high-voltage electric line.

The worker was standing with his hand on a wood chipper 20 feet from the crane when the crane touched a power line. Electricity traveled down the crane, through the ground and into the wood chipper. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he died. OSHA is investigating.  – www.wmur.com
