La Quinta, Calif., August 2012—A reportedly disoriented man fell about 50 feet to the ground after climbing up the boom of a construction crane that was sitting at a bridge-building project. Police are still trying to figure out why the man, who is not a construction worker, scaled the 50-foot crane one evening. Witnesses said the man had been acting strangely before he climbed the crane and then fell. Emergency workers tried talking to him, but he fell off. The man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. – www.mydesert.com
