Preston, Md., December 2012—A farmer was rushed to the hospital after the crane he was using touched live power lines. Maryland State Police (MSP) said the farmer was hoisting a part to the top of a grain silo when the crane’s load line swung into nearby power lines. Electricity ran through the crane and was grounded through the farmer, who lost consciousness and was taken to a nearby hospital. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
