Florida Crane Owners Council Petitions to be a Stand-Alone Organization

The Florida Crane Owners Council, Orlando, Fla., has petitioned for status as a 501 (C) non-profit organization in the State of Florida. Previously organized under the Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida, the organization chose to separate itself from the ABC in order to improve the group's ability to address the issues specific to crane owners and operators in the state.

“The state and national issues challenging crane owners and operators are so significant that we felt the need to be independent of any other group,” said Bruce Whitten, chairman of the FCOC and president of Fred's Crane, Orlando, Fla. “This new status will allow us to focus on legislative, insurance, tax, transportation, safety and operator certification issues specific to crane owners.”
