Haulotte 45XA Articulating Boom Lift Receives Robust Redesign | Construction News

Haulotte unveiled major updates to its 45XA articulated boom lift last week at The Rental Show. The 45-ft. self-propelled machine now shares a common 31-hp Kubota gas engine with the larger 55XA, and it has gained travel speed, topping out now at 5 mph. Weight distribution also has been improved as a result of the new engine.

The base of the machine has also been redesigned to provide better serviceability and easier operation. For example, the covers over the engine and fuel tank have been switched to fiberglass because they are more durable and cost effective. They also can be completely removed. The gas tank also has been redesigned and raised up for easier filling by the user. A fifth battery has been added to better support the machine if a cold start is required.

The boom lift continues to offer a platform height of 45 ft. and horizontal outreach of 27 ft. from the centerline. Hydraulic outriggers and automatic leveling allow the machine to start operating in less than 30 seconds. Its unique lightweight design and four-wheel drive allow it to travel in areas where larger, heavier machines have limited operation. The machine can be transported on a trailer with no commercial driver’s license requirement.

Look for this machine to be full production at Haulotte's Archbold, Ohio, facility in June.
