Haulotte Group reports that its consolidated sales for the first quarter of 2016 were € 115.0 million (US$130 million), up 17% from € 98.2 million (US$ 111 million) for the same period of last year.
Currency effects were not material in this period.
Equipment sales were up 19%, mainly in Europe (+30%), and North America (+35%), which maintains the trend observed in 2015.
The Asia-Pacific area is down 19% due to the slowdown in the Middle-East. Latin America (-6%) continues to be impacted by the situation in Brazil, albeit to a lower extent.
Services and rental activities are also growing, by 5% and 7%, respectively, compared to the first quarter of 2015.
Based on its first-quarter activity, Haulotte expects its annual sales to grow by nearly 5% in 2016.
