Hiab and Kalmar Merge Under New Business Name

In June, Cargotec announced it was merging the Hiab and Kalmar, and as a result of the merger, the company reports it has now formed two business areas. The Marine sector comprises the MacGregor business, and the Industrial and Terminal segment includes Hiab and Kalmar.

Olli Isotalo continues to head the Marine business as executive vice president. Pekka Vauramo heads the Industrial and Terminal business as senior executive vice president. The new Industrial and Terminal organization is made up of three regional organizations, Americas, Asia-Pacific, and EMEA, that are responsible for sales and service.

Cargotec also announces it has appointed three new members to its executive board. Unto Ahtola has been appointed executive vice president, product solutions. He will join Cargotec from Sandvik Mining and Construction where he has worked since 1982 and is currently the vice president, research & development and engineering.

Stefan Gleuel will be the executive vice president, effective Oct. 1, 209. Gleuel has worked for Cargotec for more than ten years and is currently the senior vice president, MacGregor service division.

Ken Loh has been appointed executive vice president, Asia-Pacific, also effective Oct. 1, 2009. Loh has worked for Cargotec since 1989 and is currently as president, Kalmar APAC region.

The head of the Industrial and Terminal business in Americas will be appointed in the near future. Industrial and Terminal business in EMEA has been led by Harald de Graaf since July 1. The new organization will be further developed and operational during the last quarter of 2009. Until then, the current business area structure will be in place. External financial reporting will continue unchanged through 2009.
