Industry Mourns Respected Crane Operator

Kenny Medine, a respected crane operator, died on Dec. 22 at the age of 51. Medine has worked in southern Florida over the years as a crane operator for many of the area’s rental companies, including Harrison Crane, Epperson Cranes, and George’s Crane Service.

Medine “lived and breathed” cranes, according to Mike Harrison of Harrison Crane Service, Miami, Fla., and was known by many in the crane rental business in southern Florida. “If Trivial Pursuit had ever come out with a crane version, Kenny hands down would have been the champion,” Harrison said. “Kenny’s sense of humor and zealous devotion to our industry will be missed by those that had the opportunity to work with him.”

Medine operated a 165-ton Demag crane (pictured) for Harrison Crane for eight years. “This crane was his baby, and he treated it like his own,” Harrison said.
