Layoffs Continue at JLG Industries

McConnellsburg, Pa.-based JLG Industries has confirmed that the company will be laying off 170 more employees by the end of the month. The additional cuts bring the company’s total of job reductions to 1,670 since layoffs began in July 2008.

This announcement comes just weeks after the company announced the elimination of approximately 100 white-collar positions in January. In addition, the company announced in January that it will require one week of unpaid leave from each of its non-production employees in North America before the end of March in an effort to minimize future layoffs. The company has previously furloughed production employees in an effort to align production with demand.
