Lift-It Manufacturing to Hold Safety Seminar in April

Lift-It Manufacturing, Los Angeles, Calif., will host one of its most extensive safety programs in April. The seminar will help reduce risk exposure, contribute to more efficient operations and help attendees identify potential hazards common to the rigging and material handling and fall prevention industries. The seminar will be held April 28-30, 2009, in Los Angeles.

The first day of the seminar will feature a sling user class as well as a sling inspector class, presented by Mike Gelskey, president of Lift-It Manufacturing. Fall prevention training and demonstrations will be presented by representatives from DBI-Sala during the factory tour, which will also feature fabrication and testing demonstrations. Day two will feature the sling and rigging class, presented by Harley Gist. The format will include basic and advanced rigging in a classroom setting, as well as hands-on rigging in the afternoon session.

The third day of the program will offer a train-the-trainer program, which will give an overview of what is necessary to successfully develop and communicate the message of proper sling and rigging techniques in a 45- to 60-minute presentation format.

Early registrations are encouraged as the class size is deliberately limited for maximum benefit and participation. Contact Michelle Brown, conference coordinator at (323) 582-6076 ext. 15 or by email at michelle@lift-it.com to secure your place.
