Man & Material Lift Engineering LLC (MLE), Cudahy, Wis., announced an agreement to become a part of Universal Manufacturing Co. (UMC), a Lincoln, Neb.-based company with manufacturing facilities in Algona, Iowa. Under the agreement, substantially all of the assets of MLE will be acquired by a newly formed wholly owned subsidiary of UMC called Man Lift Manufacturing Co. (MLMC).
“This was not an easy decision for me because I have nurtured MLE from a small start-up to a successful, growing and exciting business,” said Jeff Bailey, MLE president. “This transaction will, however, provide us the ability to continue to grow and be of greater service to our valued customers.”
In a seamless transition, operations will continue as they have in the past, said Bailey, who will remain president and CEO of the new company. All employees will also remain with the company, which will keep its telephone numbers, address, and email contact information.
