Manitou Moves Straight-Mast Forklift Production to Waco, Texas | Construction News

Lift and Access has learned that the Manitou Group has transferred worldwide straight-mast forklift product from Ancenis, France, to Waco, Texas.

According to the company, this strategic and economic decision is a response to changes in the sector. While the market is expanding in the United States, it has reached maturity in Europe, and Manitou said moving production enables it to reduce transport costs.

Louis Chevallier-Chantepie, the new manager of the Waco Product Unit, explains that "this transfer is an opportunity to increase our sales in the international masted forklift market."

The Waco Product Unit is part of Manitou’s RTH (Rough Terrain Handling) division, which is headquartered in Ancenis. The other two units of the IMH (Industrial Material Handling) and CE (Compact Equipment), which includes Gehl and Mustang machines.
