Manitou Now Offers Three Telehandlers in MT Series

Manitou, Waco, Texas, now offers three models in its MT Series of telescopic handlers. The most recently added machine is the MT 6034, with 34'3" of lift height and a rated operating capacity of 6,000 pounds.

The MT 6642 telescopic handler has 42 feet of lift height has a rated operating capacity of 6,600 pounds. The largest of the three, the MT 8044 will lift 7,000 pounds to the full lift height of 44 feet, and 8,000 pounds to 37 feet. All models feature a welded box-section design boom. Increased operating capacities are achieved without the use of stabilizers or fluid-filled tires. Stabilizers are an optional feature on the two larger units.

Other design features include a rugged frame with reinforced C-channels, internal wet disc brakes for longer life and better stopping capability, and a negative (spring-applied, hydraulically-released) parking brake system. The negative parking brake applies automatically when the engine is shut off or manually by pressing a rocker switch.

The operator compartment provides pilot-assisted controls that are easy-to-reach and operate, optimizing operator accuracy and efficiency. The view from the cab is a full 360 degrees. For applications that require operator protection from the weather, an optional enclosed cab with front and rear windows and a heater/defroster is available. Other options include a suspension seat, a transmission declutch feature, a work light package, and a Work Platform System (WPS) that allows the use of ANSI/ASME B56.6 – compliant work platforms offering even more versatility.

The models come with either a 99- or 115-hp John Deere turbocharged diesel engine. Other standard features include a three-speed power-shift transmission, three steering modes and quick-attach mounting system.
