McDonough Elevator Sales & Rentals has completed its acquisition of Kansas-based, Hoist-Co., Inc., including all existing service, maintenance, and Stros elevator sales contracts. McDonough will keep Hoist-Co., entire management, sales, and service staff that will continue to function out of the Baldwin City, Kan. office.
"By acquiring the leading provider of industrial elevator maintenance in the Midwest, we will enhance our presence in this critical market,” explained Joe Galatas, McDonough Elevator president. “Hoist-Co has built a strong reputation in the area as the ‘go-to’ provider for a wide range of industrial elevator solutions. For more than 30 years, they have been known for offering the most extensive, high-quality equipment and service. Hoist-Co is a strong addition to McDonough Elevator and will help grow our elevator sales and maintenance business.”
Hoist-Co was owned and operated by Kevin Harrison, who had taken over the business from his parents, John and Doris Harrison, who founded it. Harrison will join McDonough Elevator as manager of operations. “Being a part of a larger company that is a national player, like McDonough Elevator, is an opportunity for us to take what Hoist-Co has built over the last 30 years and move it to the next level of development,” said Harrison. “We are looking forward to leveraging our operational and management expertise in the elevator maintenance and permanent sales business over a much broader market.”
