MEC Aerial Work Platforms Adds Pair of Sales Managers

MEC Aerial Work Platforms, Kerman, Calif., named veteran aerial work platform professional Jack Harwood as North American sales manager, and appointed industry veteran Steve Gooding as regional sales manager. Harwood, who will be based out of the company’s Kerman corporate headquarters, will be responsible for managing the North American sales force. Gooding will be based out of the Seattle, Wash., sales office and will be responsible for the Western United States and Canada.

Harwood started his career in the aerial lift industry with Up-Right Inc. in the early 1980s, where he held several managerial positions that collectively encompassed customer service, sales, aftermarket support, and their related business units. After leaving Up-Right, Harwood established a successful BMW motorcycle dealership in central California.

“When approached with the opportunity of taking the reins of the MEC sales team, Mr. Harwood welcomed the challenge with open arms,” said David White, MEC president. “Selling quality of performance, build, and service is old hat for Mr. Harwood. MEC looks forward to the benefits the sales team will reap from his knowledge and experience.”

Gooding started his career in the aerial work platform industry in 1972 with Up-Right Inc. After 12 years with Up-Right, he worked for Genie Industries, where he served in a number of key customer support and marketing roles for 25 years. Most recently, Gooding served as director of aftermarket and technical support for aerial lift manufacturer Haulotte.

“Mr. Gooding brings a tremendous amount of sales and customer service experience to the MEC sales team and looks to make an immediate impact as the company roars into the second half of the year,” White said.
