MEC Begins Phase Out of 72 Series RT Scissor Lifts and Phase In of New 4069 Model | Daily Construction News

MEC Aerial Work Platforms has built the last of its 72 Series of Rough Terrain scissor lifts. The phase out of the 72 Series has been planned and scheduled to coincide with the release of the new MEC 4069.

The 4069 will be replacing the 3772 in the midsize scissor class and will do so while providing a higher maximum platform height, a lower entry height, 40% gradeability, and will include the MEC patent pending side mounted sheet material rack. The 4069 models will debut with a 48v DC 375 amp hour battery pack.

A diesel variant will be released in 2Q 2013 and will feature a Kubota D1105 24.8 hp diesel engine as the power source. MEC intends to have the 4069 tested and approved for sale into global market place with the first units being delivered into North America.

The total lift capacity of the machine is 800 lbs. to 40 ft. and the machine is drivable at full height. The 4069 sports an easy to enter 51" platform entry height, a roll out deck, proportional lift and drive, 4WD performance, and a tight 79" inside turning radius. Outriggers have been designed for the machine and are offered as an option.

Key performance characteristics include Electric and Diesel Tier IVi power options, 4WD, low platform entry height, and the ability to drive at full elevation.
