Melton Technologies Launches Fleet Maintenance Software Enhancements

Melton Technologies, Winston-Salem, N.C., announces the enhanced Vehicle Maintenance & Tire Tracking module that complements its existing Horizon truck fleet management software applications. This product will come as an update to existing users of the Horizon suite of fleet operations software. It will integrate with the core applications of dispatch, billing and driver settlements as appropriate.

Key features in the enhanced Vehicle Maintenance & Tire Tracking software product include integrated tire tracking with drag and drop tire management capabilities; automated preventive maintenance with up to 36 different methods for managing the maintenance of the fleet's tractors and trailers; purchase orders to account for the parts and repair items; and a maintenance tracer feature making it easier for the fleet maintenance manager to see what has been done on any piece of equipment

“In these difficult freight times, the fleet must manage all of its expenses with a finely sharpened pencil and cannot afford to be mismanaging its equipment maintenance program,” said Melton Technologies' Vice President Ron Hudnell. “Tractors and trailers must be properly and efficiently maintained with the minimum inventory to get the job done. Melton Technologies used a panel of fleet operators to assist us in improving on an already excellent product with some new features and benefits to allow them to better manage their equipment. We are very pleased to be able to offer this new update as a no-charge option to our fleets, and know they will quickly see the maintenance management benefits.”

Melton Technologies has also developed a link for its new Vehicle Maintenance & Tire Tracking module that will interface with the SagePro accounting inventory module. This link will provide for improved internal maintenance inventory management, enhanced control over parts used for external outside work, and tighter maintenance parts purchasing controls.
