MLE Now Offers Boom Lift, Industrial Crane for Hazardous Locations

Man & Material Lift Engineering, Cudahy, Wis., now offers a battery-powered explosion-proof boom lift for use in hazardous environments such as aircraft painting, oil and gas processing, and dust explosion locations.

The A45EX is designed in accordance with NFPA 70 Class I Division 1 Group D for hazardous environments. It is Factory Mutual approved, EX rated, and mandated in hazardous plant conditions where gases can lead to fire or explosion.

With a 500-pound capacity, the A45EX features a 45-foot platform height and a horizontal reach of 24’6”. The platform measures 30”x72”. Options on the machine include an articulated jib, three-way bump protection, movement arm, 3/8” air lines to the platform, and 750 Amp/hour battery with fork pocket quick disconnect.

In addition, MLE has also developed the IC20, a self-propelled industrial crane designed for in-plant lifting and material-handling applications. It is powered by 48V batteries. The IC20 has special features of low height, narrow width, short length, cargo deck, rear wheel steer, and front wheel drive.

The basic unit consists of a chassis and hydraulic boom assembly. The chassis includes a frame, three hydraulic outriggers, oil tank, control station and full power steering. The boom assembly includes a hydraulic powered 90 degree swing turret, three-section telescopic boom, hydraulic boom elevating cylinder and hydraulic powered hoist.

The IC20 has a 2,500-pound pick-and-carry capacity and a 19-square-foot cargo deck with 5,000-pound capacity. Horizontal reach is up to 22 feet and the sheave height is up to 27’9”.
