New Heavy-Lifting RT Forklift from Sellick

Sellick Equipment Ltd., Harrow, Ontario, has expanded its S Series product line through the introduction of the 16,000-pound capacity S160-4 straight-mast rough-terrain forklift. The unit is the largest offering from Sellick.

“Our dealers were finding more and more applications that required a larger capacity machine,” says Dell White, sales and marketing manager for Sellick. “Over the years, we have seen an increase in our larger capacity machines, and the next jump needed to be 16,000.”

The S160-4 features full-time four-wheel drive and four equal-sized wheels. By steering both axles, the S160-4 maintains a turning radius of 150 inches.

Powered by the 114-hp Dieselmax 444 turbocharged Tier 3 diesel engine, the S160-4 RT forklift utilizes a fully automatic powershift transmission for efficient operation. Axles include enclosed wet disc brakes for extended life, as well as limited slip differentials for maximum traction and maneuverability.

Like other machines in Sellick's S Series straight-mast RT forklifts, the operator platform on the S160-4 is mounted to the frame on isolators to reduce noise and vibrations. Standard features include frame leveling, a tilt steering column with full instrumentation, light package, and backup alarm. Options include a fully enclosed cab, air conditioning, side-shift and fork positioning carriages, and a variety of lift heights and fork lengths.

According to White, the applications for the S160-4 are varied and include users that need to pick and carry 16,000 pounds at a 24-inch load center to reload lumber yards, hardwood planning mills, steel fabricators, and steel suppliers.

“Other applications we see are extended load center requirements, such as auto salvage steel fabrication facilities and engineered wood products where the weight may not be a full 16,000 pounds but the load extends beyond the rated 24-inch load center,” he says.
