Offers AWP Operator Training to Industry Regulators

Skyjack, Inc., Guelph, Ontario, announces it has added training for government regulatory bodies, such as Federal and State OSHA in the United States and the Ministry of Labour and the Worker's Compensation Board in Canada, to its Skyjack Safety Training course offerings. The training program will help inspectors update their skills, as well as assist them in gaining knowledge of new and existing standards and regulations for the use of aerial work platforms.

Skyjack believes the safe use of aerial equipment is the result of appropriate training. Informed and engaged regulators are an important link towards increasing safety awareness throughout the industry.

Under this new initiative, Skyjack will offer AWPT operator training or informational seminars regarding aerial work platforms to North American regulatory bodies free of charge for groups of six to 20 people at Skyjack's AWPT-approved training centers in Guelph, Ontario, and St. Charles, Ill., or at other appropriate locations. This training is available to inspectors or management employed by a government regulator in the North American market and will be tailored to the specific needs of the trainees.

“This is an innovative initiative that will foster co-operation with regulatory bodies and create a more knowledgeable and safe industry," said Tim Whiteman, president of AWPT, Inc.

Any requests for this training should be directed to the Skyjack Safety Training staff at 1-800-265-2738 or safetytraining@skyjack.com.
