Operator Injured Critically when Boom Truck Tips | Daily Construction News

Lake Havasu City, Ariz., February 2013—The operator of a boom truck suffered life-threatening head and internal injuries when he leapt from the truck as it overturned while lifting a load.

The crane operator was attempting to move large poles when one dislodged and swung across the rear of the crane, causing the crane’s center of gravity to shift. As the crane tipped, the operator tried to jump in the opposite direction, but his feet hit something and he fell into the ground head first.

The injured operator received CPR from co-workers and then emergency responders. He was taken to a regional medical center in critical condition and later flown to a trauma center. – www.havasunews.com
