Perkins Engines Offers Extended Service Contracts

Perkins Engines, Peterborough, United Kingdom, has launched a new service for its engine users. Existing and new owners of Perkins engines can now purchase extended service contracts through the Perkins distribution network.

An extended service contract covers the costs of defective replacement engine parts, labor, and travel time. It provides customers with protection against unexpected repair costs, and the global support of authorized Perkins distributors.

“An individually tailored extended service contract is an inexpensive way to buy genuine peace of mind as it removes the financial risks that sudden and unexpected breakdowns can cause,” said Nigel Parkinson, Perkins director product support and distribution.

An extended service contract can be bought at any time during standard warranty, even on the last day. Perkins engines owners can contact their local distributor who will provide a quote tailored to the individual's needs within minutes. The flexible coverage enables the customer to mix and match the years and hours to suit their needs. It ranges from 2 years/1,000 hours to 5 years/8,000 hours, depending on engine type. Two levels of coverage are available. Platinum coverage offers 100 percent protection, and gold coverage covers 88 percent of the components.

The contracts cover Series - 400, 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1300, 2300, 2800 and 4000 engines. They are also available for industrial or electric power generation applications.
