Propane-Fueled Access Platform Catches Fire | Construction News

Waterloo, Ontario, May 2013—A propane-powered boom lift caught fire at downtown construction site next to a 20-story apartment building. The wind-whipped fire reportedly generated huge clouds of black smoke that could be seen several blocks away. Two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. One put out the fire on the lift while the other put out fires spreading to other materials and equipment. Fortunately, the fire didn’t spread to the nearby buildings and no one was injured.
