Quarry Worker Dies After Being Struck by Rock While in AWP | Daily Construction News

Smithland, Ky.—The federal Mine Safety and Health Administration reports that an assistant plant manager with 30 years of experience was fatally injured while working in an aerial lift at a crushed stone quarry. The victim was in a boom lift, taking samples from a highwall, when a large rock fell and struck him. He was hospitalized and died 12 days later. –www.msha.gov
