Sauer-Danfoss Updates PLUS+1TM J1939 Software Function Block Library

Sauer-Danfoss, Ames, Iowa, introduces the updated PLUS+1TM compliant J1939 software function block library. Featuring new function blocks supporting Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier 4 emissions-compliant systems, new Sauer-Danfoss products, and various customer requests, the enhanced J1939 function block library enables OEMs to accelerate mobile machine development and time to market.

The upgraded J1939 Software Function Block Library has pre-developed software blocks supporting SAE J1939, a vehicle bus standard for CAN-based communications in the truck, bus and off-highway markets. Configurable in PLUS+1 GUIDE (Graphical User Integrated Development Environment) version 5.1 or greater, the enhanced J1939 software joins other PLUS+1 Sauer-Danfoss function block libraries allowing OEMs to develop custom control systems quickly and efficiently.

“By updating the J1939 software function block library with protocols optimized for Tier 4-compliant systems and new Sauer-Danfoss products, we have done more heavy lifting for our customers,” said Joseph Maher, product marketing manager of electronic components at Sauer-Danfoss. “Our pre-configured libraries lighten the burden on skilled engineers and inexperienced programmers alike, speeding up development and time to market.”

The J1939 library contains 30 new function blocks, including support for messages commonly used in Tier 4-compliant systems and support for new Sauer-Danfoss products. Also incorporated are 12 updated function blocks with protocol upgrades and new features. New or updated function blocks include basic PGN Receiver and PGN Transmitter function blocks, Diagnostic function blocks and other miscellaneous J1939 function blocks.
