Scaffold & Access Industry Association Reports Increase in Students Trained

The Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA) trained 6218 students through the SAIA-U training program between Oct. 1, 2012 and Sept. 30, 2013.

Over the last five years SAIA-U has seen a 58% increase in students trained through their industry recognized SAIA-U training programs.  In 2010 and 2011 the growth was seen heavily in Canada but recently the SAIA has seen a growth of training classes in the Northeast and Western part of the United States.

SAIA offers training for both supported and suspended scaffolding through the SAIA-U training program. Additionally, User Hazard Awareness Training, Primary Access Training, Mast climber Operator, Aerial Work Platform Operator Training and Journeyman Apprentice Training is included in the SAIA curriculum.

The course materials have been developed by experts within the Association and scaffold & access industry. Courses are conducted primarily throughout the United States and Canada by SAIA members that have been approved by the Training Program Committee as Accredited Training Institutes (ATI). The ATI reach continues to grow and has seen significant growth internationally.  Currently the SAIA-U has ATI’s in 15 countries.  Over 40,000 students have been trained since the SAIA-U training program was established.

The SAIA continues to recruit ATI’s.  If you want to find out how to become an ATI or need scaffold & access training for you or your team, contact Granville Loar or Robin Miller at 816.595.4860 or by email at info@saiaonline.org
