Snorkel, Elwood, Kan., has appointed a new president for its North American operations. Former vice president, David Smith, has been promoted to the position.

Brendan Campbell, Chief Operating Officer of Tanfield Powered Access, the parent company of Snorkel, who has headed up the Snorkel North American operation on an interim basis, said: “We have needed a strong leader to head up the U.S. operation for some time and David has proved over the past six years that he really understands and believes in Snorkel’s core values.

“As President of our North American operations, David’s experience and leadership will be invaluable, as we continue to strengthen our business and prepare Snorkel for the economy’s rebound.”

The appointment of Smith as president follows the recent recruitment of three senior personnel in Product Support, Finance and Supply Chain. Snorkel has also rolled out new global branding, to reflect its enhanced product range and customer offering.

“I am proud to be leading Snorkel North America at such an exciting time for this company,” said Smith.

“We are executing a strategy to strengthen and enhance our customer offering. We are investing through the tough times so that we are ready to meet our customers’ needs when the good times return.”
