Snorkel to Launch New Booms, Scissors at The Rental Show

Snorkel International, Elwood, Kan., will launch several new core products at The Rental Show in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 7-10, 2010. Snorkel will unveil the SX Series, a new family of electric slab scissors that will replace both the current Snorkel S series slab scissors and the UpRight MX and X Series currently sold in Europe. The new 19-, 26-, and 32-foot scissors combine the best attributes of the existing Snorkel and UpRight slab scissor ranges, the company says.

At ARA, Snorkel will also showcase the SB46JRT, a 46-foot straight stick boom lift with a jib, which is the first in a new series of boom lifts on a common chassis.

“Our design engineers have been quietly working for months on some significant enhancements to our core product range,” said George Fitchett, vice president of sales for Snorkel International. “These new machines all stay true to the values of Snorkel; reliable, robust, cost-competitive aerial lifts, which are hard wired, easy to use and easy to maintain.”

Snorkel will also launch the Speed Level Plus, an enhanced version of the Speed Level Series of no-stabilizer, rough-terrain lifts. “Anyone who has ever operated a Speed Level will be blown away by the superior performance of the Speed Level Plus,” said Fitchett. “Our design engineers have completely revised the machine to make it even stronger, more powerful and much more practical. We have enhanced every facet of the machine’s performance where it counts the most.

The Speed Level Plus delivers faster ground and lift speeds, can handle steeper grades, has improved ground clearance, is lighter and can lift more weight, according to the company. The SL Series Speed Level is a large deck platform lifted by a sigma arm, which offers rough-terrain capabilities without the need for outriggers. The operator can level the lift mechanism in both directions, which allows for operation on slopes without having to deploy stabilizers.

Finally, Snorkel is introducing the innovative XT24SD, which combines the transport benefits of a trailer-mounted lift with the performance and manoeuvrability of a self-propelled aerial work platform. It is light enough to be easily towed by most pick-ups or light commercial vehicles and can be driven from the platform like a conventional scissor lift.

Designed specifically to meet the needs of the modern contractor or property manager, the operator can easily tow the machine to the job site, then drive it to the work location from the platform. Snorkel can be found at Booth 5317 at The Rental Show.
