Sold-Out Canadian Rental Mart Show Kicks Off in March

Excitement is building as final preparations are falling into place for Canada’s national trade show for the rental industry. The 2012 show will take place March 6-7 at the Toronto Congress Centre and will include new exhibitors, the first-ever Canadian Rental Operator Of The Year (ROOTY) award, and an appearance from HGTV star, Bryan Baeumler.

The Rental Mart sold out its initial floor plan almost two months before the show date. Since then, thje show floor was expanded and sold out again. The exhibitor count now stands at 95 with 13 first-time exhibitors in 200 booth spaces. Canadian Rental Mart attendees will have a unique opportunity to see all their main suppliers together in one place, and to find new suppliers and products they have never seen before. For the lifting equipment industry, giants like Terex AWP and Skyjack will be exhibiting, as well as key suppliers.

Recognizing excellence

Nominations for Canada’s top rental operator are closed and the nominees are anxiously waiting to see who will take home the coveted ROOTY award. Judged by a panel of Canada’s most recognized industry leaders and presented on the show floor by Bryan Baeumler, the ROOTY will represent some major bragging rights for one worthy company. The winner receives a plaque and a cover story in Canadian Rental Service magazine.

Bryan Baeumler, host of HGTV hits Disaster DIY, House of Bryan, House of Bryan II and Leave It to Bryan will appear at the show in his capacity as spokesman for the Canadian Rental Association. He will be signing posters at the CRA booth, handing over the ROOTY award, and attending the CRA Ontario banquet immediately after the show on Tues., March 6.

Education and discussion

Two well-known industry veterans will be sharing their knowledge in the Canadian Rental Mart seminar series, held each morning at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels across the street from the Congress Centre before the show floor opens. Day One features George Olah, general operations manager of ABCO Equipment and Supplies, giving attendees the benefit of his years of insider experience in the propane industry and as advisor to Ontario’s Energy Minister. He will be passing along key tips to help rental operators meet safety standards and still turn a profit. On March 7, Mark Peart, dealer sales representative for G.C. Duke, will reprise his back-by-popular-demand presentation on how to get the most from your landscaping equipment.
