Telescopic-Boom Truck Crane Tips, Knocks Live Power Lines onto Bus

August 2012—The 31 passengers and driver on a bus in Rexdale were trapped for about an hour after a telescopic-boom truck crane tipped up on end and knocked down live power lines. The lines landed on the bus, trapping the driver and riders inside until power to the lines could be turned off. A witness said the crane’s operator appeared shaken but was walking and looked ok. The labour ministry is investigating why the crane tipped. – www.torontosun.com
